The Co-Lab South Orange Activities Galore in The First Month

It started a few years ago when Taylor-Vose was planning and negotiating a re-development agreement with the Village President Sheena Collum.

A great win for the Village is the over 2000 sq ft of retail space facing South Orange Avenue that is now the home of the Co-Lab.

Fast-forward to Saturday, February 3rd when South Orange Downtown held a ribbon cutting for the new store. Melissa Hodge, Executive Director of South Orange Downtown welcomed the large gathering for the event and grand opening, and after a few remarks turned the scissors over to Village President Sheena Collum who spoke of how proud and filled with excitement she is about the opening of the Co-Lab. Among other comments, Collum said “our hope is that our local community can take advantage of this amazing opportunity and get involved as vendors in the space ranging from long-term tenant to pop-ups. Head over to 57 South Orange Avenue!”

Collum introduced the merchants, trustees present and others before the ribbon was cut.

Following the outdoor ceremony, every business was quite busy, and there was background music all day.

But there’s more … Nicole Kleinbaum has been hired as the Manager of the store, and she’s actively on board. Additionally, Hannah Zollman, who has been involved in getting the store operating as member of the volunteer board, was appointed as Board Chair Friday, February 16th.

The store has a broad assortment of products from the various vendors, and each weekend there are various pop-up vendors with additional items. It's located at 57 South Orange Avenue between Scotland Rd and Vose Ave.
